This 6-week acrylic painting course is designed for students with some prior painting experience who are ready to continue growing their skills and creative voice. Through guided projects and individualized feedback, students will deepen their understanding of composition, color, technique, and personal expression. Whether you took Acrylic Foundations with Payton here at Y.A.S. or another introductory acrylics course, this class is the perfect next step for continuing your acrylic painting journey.

Explore painting during this introductory class to Acrylic Painting. This class is perfect for those who are new to painting but are interested in developing a new skill. An advanced studio class for high school artists ready to take their work to the next level. Whether students are building a college portfolio or deepening their personal practice, this class provides the structure, guidance, and challenge to grow. Students receive individualized feedback and, for those applying to college, portfolio planning based on each school’s specific requirements—ensuring a strong, well-rounded body of work. Materials are provided.

We will discuss how to create a strong composition, impactful color relationships, and visual balance while creating your own original painting. This workshop encourages creative exploration while introducing foundational acrylic painting techniques, providing an invitation to explore brushstrokes and color mixing in a 2-hour workshop.
